NBC network president Bob Greenblatt reportedly commented a month ago on the matter of shows he wanted to see the return of on the small screen.
Among that list, he pointed out that The Office (2005-2013) was one that the network often spoke of reviving.
According to TVLine, NBC is set to write the new season for 2018-2019. The show would remain at the Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton, PA., branch, and would not see the return of Steve Carell’s character, Michael Scott. Instead, the cast would feature a mix of old and new characters. Sources say NBC is currently searching for the branch’s next regional manager.
