A French artist, Hachim Bahous, has accused Disney of plagiarizing his album covers designs for Solo: A Star Wars Story’s posters.
The Disney posters were released in the beginning of February and featured four cast members, including Han Solo. Bahous explained that the posters closely resembled art work for music he had released under Sony Music France. It doesn’t take much to recognize that the posters are eerily similar.
Look at this photo that Bahous had posted to show the comparison between the posters on his facebook page.
“I am flattered that the quality of my work is recognized, but it is still pure and simple forgery,” Bahous wrote. “I have not been asked for my permission, I wish to be credited and paid for this work I have done for Sony!”
IndieWire reached out to Disney for a comment but didn’t receive a reply. Do you think he has a legitimate claim? By the looks of it, we think he definitely does. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
